TROY, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College freshman Andrew Pullen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) scored the first goal in men’s lacrosse program history on Wednesday afternoon during the inaugural game for the Knights.

Pullen’s goal came during a man-up opportunity with 1:48 remaining in the game. It was the eighth shot of the contest for the Knights.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute went on to win the game, 25-1, with freshman David Hey (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and sophomore Will Fales (Los Gatos, Calif.) each recording three goals. The Engineers fired 63 shots during the game.

Against a barrage of shots, Mount Saint Mary sophomore goalie Zach Shaw (Dumont, N.J.) made 17 saves. Freshman Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.) also played well for the Knights, tallying a team-high 5 shots.

The Knights continue their season on Saturday. They’ll take on Lebanon Valley College at Elizabethtown College, starting at 4:00 p.m. The game was moved due to poor field conditions at Mount Saint Mary.
