NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College senior Shannon Sangster (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference first team as the all-conference awards were announced this afternoon. Junior Jess Tice (Altamont, N.Y.) was named to the second team, while head coach J. Randall Ognibene (Gasport, N.Y.) was named the co-coach of the year.

Sangster, now a three-time all-conference player, led the Knights in scoring at 12.2 points per game while also grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game. The Syracuse native shot 52.1-percent from the field to lead the Skyline Conference, while also finishing ninth in free throw percentage (70.5-percent) and tenth in blocked shots (0.7 per game). Sangster set a new school record for career field goal percentage (51.6-percent) and also became the 11th player in school history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Tice made her first appearance on the all-conference team. The junior averaged 7.8 points per game and led the team in rebounding at 6.9 per contest. She ranked third in the Skyline Conference for free throw percentage (73.2-percent) and fourth in blocked shots (1.3 per game). An excellent defensive player, Tice consistently matched up with the opposing team’s best player.
