NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team will make their eleventh consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Knights will take on Williams College in the opening round at Ithaca College on Friday, March 5 at a time to be determined.

Mount Saint Mary (22-5) was awarded a Pool C at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament following their loss to Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference championship game on Sunday. The Knights had won eleven games in a row prior to Sunday’s loss.

Williams College (18-7) will be making their fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their first since 2007. The Ephs will be one of five teams to represent the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Williams posted a record of 7-2 in NESCAC play, but were upset by Bates in the opening round of the conference tournament. Junior Chessie Jackson (Goleta, Calif.) leads the team at 14.4 points per game.

Ithaca College will host DeSales University in the other first round matchup. Ithaca (22-5) received an at-large selection after falling to Utica College in the Empire 8 championship game. The Bombers were 16-0 during the Empire 8 regular season. DeSales (18-9) is the champion of the Freedom Conference. The second-seeded Bulldogs knocked off top-seeded Manhattanville to capture their third consecutive conference championship.

Game times for the weekend will be announced later today.
