NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Freshman Brianna Perazella (Cheshire, Conn.) won a pair of individual events on Thursday night to guide Mount Saint Mary College to a 111-70 victory over Maritime College. Sophomore Enrique Naudy (Monroe, N.Y.) broke two more school records as the Blue Knights dropped a 121-80 decision to the Privateers.

Perazella was a winner in both distance events, coasting to a victory in the 1000 freestyle (11:41.71) before dominating the 500 freestyle in 5:36.41. She also teamed with freshman Kassie Kayal (Wayne, N.J.), freshman Megan Whelan (Greenville, N.Y.), and sophomore Sarah Pruschki (Greenville, N.Y.) for a victory in the 200 medley relay (2:07.84).

Kayal, Whelan, and Pruschki each contributed an individual event victory. Kayal won the 200 individual medley (2:33.31), while Whelan cruised to a win in the 100 butterfly (1:08.96), defeating the rest of the field by more than twenty seconds. Pruschki edged the field in the 100 freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:04.78. Also chipping in were sophomore Christina Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) and freshman Jamie Testa (Prospect, Conn.). Figueroa captured the 200 freestyle in 2:26.77 and Testa gutted out a victory in the 50 freestyle (28.54).

On the men’s side, Naudy was a triple winner and set two new records. The sophomore set new marks in the 50 freestyle (22.24) and the 100 butterfly (54.27) before easing to a victory in the 100 backstroke ((57.03).

Senior Stephen Ghostlaw (New Windsor, N.Y.), competing for the last time in the Kaplan Center, was phenomenal in the 1000 freestyle. Ghostlaw controlled the race from the outset and posted a career-best time of 11:18.67. The senior also put in a nice swim in the 500 freestyle, finishing second in 5:33.05.

Junior Brian Heitman (Ramsey, N.J.) edged Ghostlaw in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:28.95. Heitman also recorded second place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:00.69) and the 100 freestyle (53.41).

Seniors Jay Matushefske (Garnerville, N.Y.) and Shawn Tocidlowski (Brewster, N.Y.) were also honored on senior night.

Both teams will head to the Skyline Conference Championships at Purchase College on Saturday. The meet is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
