OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team closed the first half on a 27-7 run and cruised to a 65-38 victory over SUNY College at Old Westbury.  The Blue Knights remained perfect in conference play at 7-0 and moved to 10-3 overall, while the Panthers fell to 8-5 overall (3-3 Skyline).

It was a stellar defensive effort for Mount Saint Mary as they limited Old Westbury to just ten field goals and 16.7-percent shooting for the contest.  The Blue Knights also outrebounded the Panthers by a margin of 47-38.

Senior Shannon Sangster (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Mount with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  She was 8-for-10 from the field and also tallied a pair of blocks and a pair of steals.  Freshman Charneice McCullough (Wyandanch, N.Y.) and sophomore Natalie Garbie (Bayville, N.J.) each chipped in with 10 points for the Blue Knights.

Old Westbury freshman Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) scored a game-high 28 points and also totaled 9 rebounds.  Agard was only 6-for-21 from the floor but connected on 16-of-17 attempts from the free throw line.

Up next for Mount Saint Mary is a trip to the Polytechnic Institute of NYU.  The Blue Knights will travel to the Blue Jays on January 14 for a 7:00 p.m. start.
