Peisel Named to ECAC First Team

NEWBURGH, NY – Sophomore catcher Louis Peisel (Brewster, N.Y.) was named to the ECAC Metro Region first team late last week.

Peisel, the Skyline first team catcher and also a second team member of the ABCA New York Region team,finished the season with a batting average of .394. He tied for the team lead in hits with 61 and led the Blue Knights in total bases with 95. His slugging percentage of .613 placed him second on the team and among the top five in the Skyline Conference. Peisel, who totaled 41 runs and 45 runs batted in, also belted a team-high five home runs.

Peisel was one of just three Skyline Conference players on the eleven-player first team. The other eight honorees were members of the NJAC.

Christine DelPiano
Softball
Senior Christine DelPiano batted .400 and slugged 1.000 during the Skyline Conference tournament.  During a 7-6 victory over Old Westbury in a loser's bracket game, DelPiano was 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers.  Her two-out, seventh inning blast saved the Knights from elimination.  DelPiano recorded at least one hit in all three games.
Matt Prescia
Baseball
Freshman Matt Prescia batted .412 with six runs scored and five runs batted in during the Skyline Conference tournament.  In an extra-inning game against St. Joseph's College, Prescia's two-run single in the top of the eleventh proved to be the difference as the Knights advanced with a 7-5 victory.  The freshman finished with seven hits in the tournament, including at least one in each game.
