NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Senior Joe Meilak (Greenville, N.Y.) was the lone representative for the Mount Saint Mary College men’s tennis team on the Skyline all-conference teams, announced Monday evening. A member of the first team, Meilak is a first-time selection to the all-conference teams.

Meilak was a deserving recipient of the honor, posting a record of 10-1 in singles play. After losing his first match of the season, Meilak won ten consecutive matches and was named the team’s most valuable player. He was 5-0 at second singles and 5-1 at third singles with a mark of 6-1 against the Skyline Conference.

The senior also posted a record of 5-6 in doubles play while shuffling around the lineup. After finally settling in at the number one doubles position, Meilak was an impressive 3-2, racking up important conference wins over Purchase and Polytechnic.

A business management major, Meilak is set to graduate later this month. He plans to enlist in the United States Air Force upon graduation.
