NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Members of the Mount Saint Mary College baseball team volunteered their time to serve Thanksgiving dinner at a local church on Wednesday, November 25. The effort was part of the broader Blue Knights in the Community project taken on by the athletic department as a whole.

Plastic aprons covered the Mount Saint Mary College sweatshirts as the Blue Knights served Thanksgiving meals to the families at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newburgh. Four local players teamed with head coach Steve Sosler (Florida, N.Y.) at the event.

Pictured in the photo, from left to right, are: Coach Sosler, freshman Paul Cherubino (Pine Bush, N.Y.), sophomore John Conroy (Middletown, N.Y.), senior Brian O’Connor (Campbell Hall, N.Y.), and senior Frank Snyder (Wallkill, N.Y.).

Freshman Matt Prescia batted .412 with six runs scored and five runs batted in during the Skyline Conference tournament.  In an extra-inning game against St. Joseph's College, Prescia's two-run single in the top of the eleventh proved to be the difference as the Knights advanced with a 7-5 victory.  The freshman finished with seven hits in the tournament, including at least one in each game.
Christine DelPiano

Senior Christine DelPiano batted .400 and slugged 1.000 during the Skyline Conference tournament.  During a 7-6 victory over Old Westbury in a loser's bracket game, DelPiano was 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers.  Her two-out, seventh inning blast saved the Knights from elimination.  DelPiano recorded at least one hit in all three games.
